usb2-480mb per second
firewire- IEEE 1394- 400mb per second
firewire- IEEE 1394b (800) - 800mb per second
and for my opinion the firewire connection is much more stable. |

Almost correct dude
The speed looks a little bit higher on usb like you stated but including protocols, overhead ,... usb 2.0 is still not faster than firewire 400.
Remember usb startet with 11mbit or so, firewire already with 400mbit. Im using firewire where possible and yes i agree with you i think also that its more stable |

Yes well 50 MB/s or 80 MB/s doesn't make much of a difference unless you're transfering dvd images or something. I've got all firewire, firewire 800 and usb2 ports on my puter and I've only used the usb2 ones. I find it very stable as nothing has "not worked" ever for me.. I have a Glyph. They are designed for audio but any HD would be ok as long as it is firewire. |
