Hi, Its good to have your External Hard drive in partitions?? i listened that if it partitioned i makes the hard drive think twice or depends in your partition and thats not good for your hard drive, but other says that its good to have better accomodation and storage,

i use an extern HD for almost 70% of my samples. but i use only one partition and i see no reason to partitionate this HD since its allready fast enough for reading waves into the pool. even with my standart USB-2.0 (no highspeed) interface.

i use an external hd for my samples. partitioning the hard drive would only make sense if its huge, like 150 to 200gb, because im sure your sample library must be huge. mine is anyways, and my external is about 100gb, so no need for partitions. if you have a big external, you could partition it in a way such that you store your old project files in one part and samples in the other. that way, the hd of your computer is kept free and clean all the time.
