Exporting vsti to audio

Hi i have a question for Guys:
Supose i have a melody i like coming out of the synth and i want to export to audio , should the audio level coming out of the vsti track be as high as possible? or it doesnt really matter? if i export it with a low level output and after importing it back i raise the gain of the sample does the signal to noise level increase? |

as long as it is a synth sound you dont need to worry much..if you record something with a mic i would run it as hot as possible without clipping..
