I've noticed when i want to finalise a part and i convert it into audio the volume of the wav is a little low compared to when i play it in midi..
Does this have anything to do with the fact that the fader of the main output on the mixer is set to -4.16 by default?
Do you guys put the fader up to 0 db when you convert something to audio?
Thanks & merry christmas everyone!

i had this problem, too and now i have the main output fader set to 0 db while producing. i lower it a littlebit before exporting the whole mix but only when the output is going over 0 db - but i try to avoid that while mixing.
use the search and then you will find some topics about headroom if you are interested.

when you convert to audio... you're mixing it down via the master....
Therefore when you convert and you're output is set to -4.16 it means the waveform you then import is at -4.16...
then because you haven't moved the mixer, the waveform at -4.16 will be reduced again at the mixer by -4.16 so overall the sound will be reduced by -8.32
Don't have the fader on 0 when you're producing (unless you've got a limiter on the mix which will affect the sound... so don't) because it'll clip...
Just mix down individual sections by themselves at 0dB
Otherwise... once you've imported it as an audio track. Boost the channel fader by 4.16 and it'll be at the same level as before!
