Hi

Sometime ago, in one more of the "how to sample movies thread" someone mentioned a software to get the stereo file out of a mpeg/avi file at one go (without having to run the movie and record live)

I used the search but couldn´t manage to find that post...anyone knows this?

I use a pc, but i have only tried it on a mac. in Imovie there is a function called something like "separate audio from file" or something very similar. I belive this can be done in windows moviemaker as well.

Try import the file and see your options

Does Adobe Audition work with AVIs as well? As far as I know, VirtualDub, DVDx etc will only do MPEGs.

I have some dedicated AVI audio recorder at home, I'll check it when I'm off work.           http://soundcloud.com/aeon604

Hi 2 all! without any proplems You can import audio track from movie directly in Cubase SX. Just create audio track and go to the file/import/audio from video file and choose your movie. as for me simple way.

Try Vegas, you get to crop the wave in a separate audio track in any format.           Bring yourselves into the light

Just curious though.. From what kind of movie file formats should samples be exported from to give you good quality? Do they always have to be a DVD quality movie?
