hey Droid,
the sound of the midi bounced should be the same as midi..however, I too sometimes hear the difference that's why some people in the past preferred record realt time what they hear so I would say that is normal.
A few points to make:
1) your sound card does not affect the result sound just because when you export to audio the sound does not exit the computer..you use the sound card to convert digital to analog to listen to your monitors
2) in Studio one 2.5 you can record real time what you hear by grouping tracks to a group and press record and voila'!a bit like cubase (cubase has it in version 4 studio one in 2.5 so studio one is better just kidding)
so you can make comparison between track exported and track recorded real time and see if there is a difference
I usually don't give a shit, if there is a difference it's very small so I usually use the method convenient in that particular time
just my 2 cent
