So theres a topic on the forum...Satori Remxing thing......in the topic he gives you a Remix Pack with all the stuff that you need to remix........cool......but how do all the other remixes happen? If Astrix wants to remix a song does he cal up GMS and get a remix pack to? How does this all work and what is the main goal one is to look for in remxing?

very good question indeed.... ive always wanted to know this too... but i think this is how it works... either the artists share a remix pack like usually u c around or else if ur pretty good with synthesis u might be able to get the desired sounds u want usin various vsts.
also another thing would be mayb the artists share the entire project file with all the elements in there as in the whole track and den the same thing mayb re-edited by a guy remixing it....
pls do correct me if imm wrong.... |

If you want to remix a track, you will have to speak to the artist in order for him to provide you the files for remixing.
Alternatively if you are remixing a well known band and if they have'nt awsered your request, you can download the midi files of their song and make your own version.
If it sounds a slight bit like the original you will have to be granted the permission to release, but remember, you can still play it even if its not released as long as the place where you play it allows you to play other people's music.
I know DJ that are getting famous using just remixes that are'nt even aproved by the original artists but the thing is if you can play other people's music and can mix it with other tunes, you can also bring your remixes to play live. |

I have had another aussie artist remix my stuff and I just gave him the whole ableton file.
I guess you can also do what I have done and bounce loops with all the sounds in your track, or create stems that can be layed side by side and will play the whole song and the remixer can chop and change it. |
