Hello to everyone here,

I have a question for all of you.
What means Night, Dark, Morning, Psy, Proggy . . .etc..

How is possible that someone puts a label in every track...? Every track should be listened without trying to give a style or a label!

I m bored to read reviews of new CDs and to read : "This is the ultimate DARK album" ,or "This is for the night times", or "This is a morning track".

When will we finally realise that those differencies that are created by ourselfves are dividing our small scene in several others....!!!

It should be nice to speak about the sounds the form, the structure and the rythm of a track ...and not by DARK, PROGGY, HOUSY, PSY-TECH...etc...

Well, all you music friends, what is your opinion?

My best wishes to all of you!

it means that Psy is quite in the same phase
as housemusic was 10-12 years ago:
new artists bringing new visions in sound,
sound that finds its way to the people's ear,
and the people want to talk about what they hear.

it also means that we dont know what we are talking about
which is logic because sound is very hard to grab
or put down in words.

practically speaking, as long as the music
becomes "a basic variation on a theme",
it's all Disco, in a certain sense.

i think that you´re right in general, Dot Kite, but on the other side, people are confused and a lot of non-psychedelic music (music for the body, not for the brain/ heart and stomach) is sold under the label goa or psychedelic trance.
therefore i do not see separatism and "subgenreification" as something, that is only stupid and superficial.
we do obviously need a division in this scene in order not to sell out the basic values and objectives of a psychedelic culture (i.e. "throw out" the fakes who do not share those cultural aspects and only want to use it as a vehicle, mostly because they do not achieve in other scenes...).
this culture is too beautiful and outstanding to be a sort of social assistance office for losers, underdogs and drug addicts!
if this wasn´t like it is now, i would totally agree with you.

...therefore we do need those labels in order to point out, what really is "GOA" in terms of "state of mind"/ way to look at things etc., and what´s not.
everything is OK and has the right to exist, but not everything under the "label" goa, as it is not just a label for categorysation in cd- stores, but rather a whole philosophy and way of living.

The ones you ask are grouping mods by personal mood caused by low imagination ability.

Dejayridoo i don't get u :|

U say 'real' goa is or means respect/ tolerance (bearing differences betwenn your oppinion and others)/ anti-commercialism/ ego nullification/ peace/ love (not the superficial way...)/ passion/ friendlyness/ open mindedness/ open heartedness/ honesty/ flippy-trippyness/ funniness/ playfulness/ looseness etc.

If it is so then 'unreal' goa means the opposite of this?

It is only music!            Signature

Cubasing is like Freebasing, just with audio.
Both cost more than you can afford, and leaves you sitting in a dark room with no life, craving for more.

EYB, i think that we could agree on which kind of music is deep and "serious", and which is more easy, where you don´t have to fix your attention as much to enjoy it.
this "easy" music is often "only body music" or background music.
and there is music with a spiritual, positive or weird, touch opposed to simple "grounded" beatz, with a more urban touch of coolness...

your right everyone blames the name calling game.

night
dark
morning
fluff whatever

I think when an artist makes a track he tries to make a story
and he makes in a style he has created

labels have a style too
there fore they try and put out the best music made in their style

there fore there are many different styles of Trance
and most artist/labels/djs/ etc create their own style......... in a sense their own essense

So what i think is morning might be what u think is dark
what u think is morning i might consider house music

and the same verse goes for the rest of our very vivid imaginations

frankly i think the rambling sounds of Gms, cpu etc are dark since the sounds make no sense to me and are just noise.

however
kindzadza, Grapes of Wrath and Insane behaviour seem to leave me in a better mood and I can understand the music

this is less dark to me/.

Listen to the artist you like
listen to the music they make
do not be bound by time
or by gradients
be bound only by your imagination
which is boundless
