ive just got sonar2xl, but im getting a kind of resonant noise in the right channel with every sound that plays, whether synth output, or audio
its not distortion on a channel, and its not my soundcard- i dont get this when playing back audio through cool edit, for example. i checked the meter levels on my sound cards internal mixer anyway, incase for some reason the levels in the right channel were simply coming up too high but thats not it
it sounds like a feedback problem, possibly a conflict with my soundcard? i had it a couple of days ago in sonar- and ive just had to completely rebuild my hard disk, wiping evrything that was one there before so everythings been freshly reinstalled- and i still get it
im using a hoontech dsp24 card
please help me!! the sound is hideous and i cant find the solutiuon on my own!!! |

i stand corrected, ive been starting to get the same feedback/distortion within windows generally (unbless im imagining it)/ i cant find any information about any specific problems with my soundcard, so now im completely confused. if this is the case then evry person using the same card must suffer from exactl;y the smae problewm (under 2000 anyway). |

olgra .. i can't help u with sonar, but:
tell us if u use the same audio drivers with sonar and cooledit.
i don't think it's a feedback, i think it's some driver's wrong mixer settings.
there's usually directx drivers, asio drivers and other types - make sure the main mixer is set up properly for all the drivers (especially line in and mic)
u can try as well other type of driver with sonar.
hope this helps.

id already been through all of these problems, like i said id already checked internal mixer settings anyway
i think the drivers i was using, although the latest version, may have been win 98 specific so im gonna download the drivers peraining to be win2000 and hope that solves the issue. i have since swicthed from using the internal output (which was wrong to use) to one the soundcards four stereo outputs (although there is only one pair of physical outputs on the back of the card)- that resolves the issue of the feedback but the drivers for these ouputs are unstable within sonar- they stutter and generally mess around all the time- but i think trying out the 2000 drivers may resolve all my problems |
