A friend is in Hawaii and is looking into putting together some psy/goa events.
Does anyone know of events already scheduled or people who are already involved / interested?

there was something going on in hawaii back in sept i beleive.... dont know much beyond that..

I am living in Hawaii and will be spinning March 6th '04 at a free outdoor party. It isn't all psy but that is what I am going to play. PM me and I will send contact info. There are a few of us here on Oahu but not many.
The eme event that kinda didn't really happen was a washout and really had nothing to do with trance. I went to two of the parties on the last night and there was a combined total of about forty people and I am being generous. Hawaii is very beautiful but sucks for music unless you like hop-hop, so once I get my studio fully equiped I am fucking off to South Africa. Asides from that the states is very rapidly becoming a police state if not already. |

eMpTy said it all. The eme parties were lame. I only know O'ahu and the surf is off the hook, but the trance scene aint happening yet. But that's because it doesn't have a base. A lot of people coming and going...but nothing beats a tropical starry sky, a few friends, a soundsystem and warm Pacific waters. It's magic!
There was a festival on the Big Island (Hawaii), but I left before it went down. Check the net for those contacts. |

Hawaii is the most beautiful place in the world. plus or minus. why not throw a massive festival there. hmm, hard to get to i guess. ein chadash tachat hashemesh. there is nothing new under the sun. --kohelet. |

Just got back from Maui...Maui has some killer parties at a cave called Kalpo (spelling?) that is right on the beach North of Hana. They usually go off every full moon...I heard the term, "rave-in-the-cave." It was much better than I had expected. In fact, it was one of the best parties I went to. It was the rainbow family on Maui...and dude (Tim-Eye) was playing some killer Shpongle remixes in the morning when the sun was rising over the ocean. The music genres were well-rounded among the dj's. My suggestion on Maui is to head to Little beach (In Mackena, south of Kehei) which is the nude beach next to Big Beach. Go a few days before the full moon and ask one of the hippies about the Kalpo "rave-in-a-cave"...you won't be disappointed!

This weekened we were suposed to have a regional burning man but the DLNR Depertment of Land and Natural Resources got wind of it and have effectivly shut it down.
Like a month ago we had a party on the beach for these military guys who were of to Iraq the next day. It is not even midnight and the cops come and stop the fun.
Thanks for the info Geschtuknflumpt, I will try to make it over there next full moon. That drive to Hana is so beautiful with the most amazing waterfalls, about 30 of them.
The party that they did on the big island with Hallucinogen was poorly organized as they put it up on the side of a mountain where the temprature was chilly and that suks especially if you know it is a perfect temp at sea level.
Oh well.

I heard the regional burn was relocated.
I was at the Hallucinogen party on the big island, and despite the rain and mud bog the first day, it turned out to be a really nice time.
actually quite special for me during simon's set at dawn.
I'm in LA now but Hawaii is my second home (makaha, oahu). It's good to hear there's some activity going on out there.
If it's cool, I'd appreciate if you posted info here on any parties you do. I've got family out there that would want to go.
btw, do you know gary owens by any chance? |

I don't know when you heard that but I called to find out the time for my set and it supposedly has been shut down. Maybe the BM crowd will go somewhere else without the sound system and have a more mellow event. We are trying to get into Indigos but that isn't confirmed either.
I do know Gary as it happens. Haven't seen him for a while though.
Yeah I will post a party if one happens but don't hold your breath.

Speaking of Hawaii. Wow!! I just moved out of there to L.A.Hardly a scene on the island of Oahu. Me and a bunch of friends have been spinning there for a couple of yrs trying to get the psy scene going. Bit of luck but nothing serious. The islands are strict wit the law, though there are beach and full moon parties happening all the time. A lot of Israelis are winding up there so things look positive. Maui has a bunch of /hippies/trancers and freaks who have been throwing parties for a long time. To get soemthing going one would have to get the word out to the right ppl. Please mail me if you need specific names of ppl who will be more than happy to help out for a scene.
RICH would love to hang out and party in L.A and around the west coast. please be in touch and let me know of the parties all around.
