(Screw this 'cheese' labeling. Just because it has beautiful melodies, chord progression, and occasional vocals doesn't mean the music is cheesy. A lot of music typically classified in the 'night'/harder realm of psychedelia sounds cheesy to me. You will find cheesy AND great tracks in just about any genre. The point is, music is in a constant flux of change, and rather than demonizing and hating music just because it is different from what you normally prefer to listen to; try to appreciate everything for what it is. The new wave of melodic/morning full-on psytrance, which sounds strangely MAINSTREAM for psytrance is a lot different from the psytrance of past, that much is clear. But does that make the music bad? Not at all! It still maintains many of the stylistic qualities dating back through it's predecessors; Goa Trance, Acid Tech, and Psychedelic Rock. If anything, it might be a return to the roots of Psychedelic rock, which was often very euphoric and melodic. It IS DEFINITELY different from all the other electronic dance music on the scene these days, and therefore calling it 'eurotrance' or 'ravetrance' is not accurate, nor is it telling of the music's qualities. It is definitely based upon the same qualities that all Psytrance is. I firmly believe that music can be Psychedelic, whether it is happy and euphoric or deep and ethereal including anything in between. So that's my rant. Call music what you will, but don't hate on any style just because it exists outside of your own personal box.)
