i dont know why shouldnt you always sample ur bassline and leave it play as a mono audio file.

1) So you'll trust your ears instead of your eyes. Working with sound and not pictures.
2) Easily editable, simple improvisation in both melody, harmony and sound.
3) Workflow. By focusing on the composition first and the mixdown later, you just get more work done in less time. You will sample and edit it after you finish your track and make the "fine tuning" adjustments to your bass (and/or cutoff/envelope/whatever automation).

Hope I answered your question.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

True... but if you do a good job of sampling a few different settings on the ESM then it will still be there if you need it for other tracks, which is always handy. But my way of working involves keeping a steady mix as I go so I know exactly where I have mix space. It all depends on your own way of working.

if its too much hassle to sample save up or get cracked trilogy, and avoid all the hectik shit, i personally dont sample my synths i use what ever i got and make it work for me, period

so avoid the headache of sampling which i find can slow down ur creative process IN MY OPINION or get a roland sh101, plus anyways i like my bass with character
