I bet if you post a sample of the Eskimo bass, and a sample of your best try, someone will help you.
There is only like 5 knobs on a Tau 2, it does not take long to make a nice bassline with it. I can give you a nice patch that I made, but it might not be like Eskimo's.
I also seem to remember Eskimo samples his bass notes and uses the samples, if that helps. |

i have tried every posible vst including tau, trilogy all the waves overthere ,proscyon, filterscape, scorpion, albino ,absynth, bassline,sytrus,z3ta+
i have found that tau(1/64) and scorpion
are the closest and best vst 4 what i am looking 4 (good but not perferct)
(trilogy is nice but not 4 me)
iknow that junya is using sometimes tau1 but
very rarely so i think that dynamic eskimo trinitik dynamo are using a reas synth or an unknown vst........ i have seen all there bassline in soundforg
and 80% from it is not from the vst's ^^^^^
i have virus ti and it is not halping....
so if u know a good synth tell i will buy
or vst.....(i dont think so)

what makes you so sure that they use a outboard synth? with vsti's u might need to add harmonics to the bottom end to get that warm weighty sound.outboard synths are a pain in the ass.nowerdays because the plugins got just as good, (if not better becos of flexibility) as hardware, 85% of all trance released is digital. anyway keep tweaking and processing, doing EQ cuts in the right places might help, and a bit of compression.i'd recomend any synth the has a good fiter envelope, with ADSR.altough those 303 emulators are very weighty. |

I always thought that the synth would do the trick, now I've realized it has alot to do with processing after the synth. I use Zebra 2 and can get some really good bass out of it. The trick I figured out was using a little bit of quadrafuzz to bring out the saw part of the bass. It really helps it stand out, also helps to eq the bass as well. It's really all you need to know to do. Get it as good sounding with the vst or hardware you are using then do processing on it afterwards.
You can't get that sound with just a synth alone...

He's using his ears, some creativity and his own judgment. Try to copy that attitude and not his sound.
