padmapani - i agree with you totally, and thanks for the response.
I ask this question because i read some old oxydelic post somewhere where he was advocating this pattern in conjunction with sidechaining the lows of the bass to the kick and opening the stereo image of the mids. Seemed really good in theory but I am having difficulty recreating, so i was wondering if anyone else is using this technique and has had success or would be willing to share some insight into the process....
