hi,
i just installed a soundcard (sb audigy zs 2) and activated it in cubase.
after opening a track the massage came:
couldnt set samplerate ...a reason could be, that its synchronizing to another source.
(i translated it from german to english...)
so i checked the project properties, and its now set to 48.000 kHz, before switching soundcard i ran it with 44.100 kHz with my onboard soundcard.
(with the onboard soundcard i also can set higher samplerates)
the problem is that i only can choose 48.000 kHz with the new soundcard.
all my tracks would be killed if i would go on with 48.000 kHz... (>;**)>
im setting up my new gear since 1 month, no music making... im really getting tired of this sh** ... why it cant just run?
here you got some info what maybe helps you solving my problem:

thx, i installed now the asio software and changed it to 44.100.... but if i start cubase, nothing has changed ><
are there any other options?
there is also an option in the soundcard settings, where i can set 44.100 for midi... dont helps (why i can set it for midi but not for audio?) and another option what says "syncronize to windows xp"... also nothing happens.
ciao

sorry i meant "where i can set 44.100 for SPDIF", not midi.
please help me;; i choose this option in ASIO4ALL v2.8 :
always 44.1kHz <-> 48kHz konvert
but this changes nothing... i dont understand why.
i checked the internet now for hours, and i didnt found any solution... im really stucked now, and i dont want to spend more hunderets of euros again for a soundcard. my bankaccount is out of order;;

obviously your audio driver has it's sample rate locked to 48kHz ... consult the driver's manual or help file on how to unlock that.
but: isn't 48kHz the standard sample rate for S/P DIF?

Choose SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO 24/96 [CCC0] Driver, then switch to needed samplerate in the project setup.
The thing is other versions of ASIO driver you have ("Creative ASIO" and "SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO")do not hold other samplerate then 48kHz.
And you better don't use AsioforAll.
Good luck.

thx, the problem is, the kHz are fixed to 48.000 in cubase, with Sb Audigy 2 ZS ASIO [CCC0] and also with Creative ASIO (as you can see in the picture...) when i get into a project i cant switch.
in the soundcard the only kHz i can set is for Digitaloutput (44.1 / 48 / 96), and this dont helps.
i wonder why i only can set it for SPDIF and why it support 44.1 there, but not with cubase analog.
@makus
Asio4all dont works anyway... ill delete it
it looks like i have to switch back to my onboard soundcard... cool

from the manual:
16-bit to 24-bit recording sampling rates: 8, 11.025, 16, 22.05, 24, 32, 44.1, 48 and 96 kHz, including ASIO2 support at 16-bit 48 kHz resolution.
conclusion:
as it seems that ASIO2 driver only supports this one sampling rate.
probably you should sell it on eBay and get another soundcard, which meets your requirements ...
checkout RME or TerraTec
