I have a better advice for u - buy a really good computer (pentium 4, 1G+) for starters + good amlifyer and speajers (incase u dont have these items already). then learn to write music and THEN think about spending big money on hardware.

Shanti I have to correct u -

Dikta, DONT buy Pentium IV cuz first it's damn expensive and definitely not THAT fast as it should concerning the price tag.

Secondly it has some audio problems ( at least had till couple of weeks ago ) I think is all about compatibility, it will probably b solved, but as for now, go for Pentium III 1 Giga is good enough believe me.

Dojo, buying equipment is great an all, but you gotta know what your doing with it or else it's gonna pick up a lot of dust (Evil Dust Balls) and you won't touch it. it's better if you have some previous musical knowledge.

I see.

But I just cant completely except the fact that in this age, even into this "future music" one must have previous knowledge of music.

For example - if my little brother wants to be a future "digger master" he needs to learn the piano for 8 years?

No, but he should have a certain level of knowledge in basic music and musical structures. i havnt learnd piano for 8 years, i learned guitar for 3 years and been playing ever since.

Thats all bullshit you all talking...!

I know people who had no basic knowledge before
they started to write trance/electronic music and
now they are going to sign up in krembo records
for they new CD :)

So the "Basic knowledge" is not important :)

errrr
right.
so far, Infected mushroom, Dark Soho, Cosma, and any other artist I have heard had AT LEAST a minimal musical education. ask almost any trance artist and they'll tell you what is their musical background.
