Equipment Freeze?

So, after my mixer's cross fader broke in summer 07, my 2 decks and little drum machine have been lying in the cupboard. They were working just fine, but now, finally, I got a new mixer, and it seems like my gear froze? I mean, my pioneer CDJ 100, I turn it on, and the lights on cue and play buttons come on, as well as the green light where you load discs, but nothing on the screen. And, my Korg EM1 refuses to turn on....
So, my question is, has this ever happened to anyone else, not using equipment for like 8 or 9 months, and then it doesn't f#*k!ng work anymore? I'm very frustrated, I'm a broke foreign student, and all I wanne do is mix again.....
Could it be moisture related? but then some lights do come on, so it does still work??

denon 1000's for teh win

most cdj-100s i still see in use are generally pretty trashed or magically impervious...

krotovina, for the repair bill on the cdj you might as well track down some new cheap decks!

also, you said you are a foreign student -- any power supply issues related to this?

In that case I can call myself lucky. Mine CDJ100 survived 2 Burning Man festivals, liquor spills and candle wax disaster           http://www.chillumafia.com

The pioneer 100 runs on 110 and 220, and I've been mixing on it for 3 years in the states, it just froze after it slept for 8 months......
I use a power converter for the Korg, but also, it use to work??           www.myspace.com/krotovina

the Denon 1000 search function is just too slow, for teh loss.

denon 5000 are much nicer

and i have age-old 100s that still work just fine.

          ..it's just another party..

the search buttons can be programmed to skip forward 1 min, or any number of 10sec intervals
the search can b e sped up by spinning the wheel while in vinyl mode
anyways,
ill take the slow search quirk over a lack of true control or looping

i hope you get your groove on soon krotovina!
