Hi there all, i had put a thread for help on accomodation and living in brasil and now i am planning to come over there next year...me and my friend want to get our studio there and we are curious if we could buy some other equipment from Brasil...are there many shops of music equipment there? Are they expensive? We intend to buy a 16 channel mixer and maybe later another synth if anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks

I guess you'll pay high prices here.
It's much easier to buy in Europe ou USA.

yep, in brasil you will end up paying from 50% to 100% more in equipment than in the US
the government charges about 60% on taxes sometimes plus the salesman profit....
not to good right?

so take all you need, and if possible take some extra to supply the tupinikim artists....

Hey people i was talking to my friend yesterday and she has been to brasil and when i mentioned that maybe i go to Sao Paolo she told me not to because it is a big city which is very dangerous. Now i was actually thinking about this cause i plan to come with the equipment there and i do not want to end up with all of our equipment being stolen! So i am a bit worried, now if someone can help me find a nice place, a 2 to 3 bedroomed house in the nature were i will be sure that when i come to brasil i can go there with the equipment and sort of have my mind free of any bad thoughts you know what i mean equipment costs so much money! I would appreciate a lot if someone can help me...

Thanks in advance for your kindness,
Bom

Ganjagil, I would advise you to first go to Brasil Sao Paulo and Bahia, then chose the place you want to live, and then get someone to send the equipments to you when you settled.

It is just an opinion anyway....

I guess u have the budget to live in bahia dude, bu sao paulo is the center of psytrance production in Brasil, and its quite far away from Bahia.
Try to find some place in the hills or in a small town near Rio or Sao Paulo, cause it seems your limited budget wont do for something very nice in a big town.

Ganjagil, think about Curitiba. It's a nice city, nice psytrance scene and sheeper then São Paulo or Rio. Get some info about it.           Find your psychedelic roots!!!!!
