Hey folks.
I am just looking out for some good eqs especially for leads and atmos. I have some good stuff going on for the percussions. Some of them has presets which work pretty decently for the leads with the guitar presets etc etc.
But i'm looking for more specific stuff. Eqs which are termed specifically for leads and atmos or anything that might come close. Wondering f any of you all have something interesting to share?

I think this is a cool thread.I think each part has almost always a different setting but there are some guidelines like more or less.
For instance ,probably you would always make a highpass on pads from atleast -300 hz ,if not more and so on.
Could be interesting to read the others' limits on all those elements..and sure tha detailed eq always depends on other frequencies..but that is probably not the point here.
Could be an interesting discussion since people often see things different.

I don't even notice subtle colorations between different EQs.
aparently some lower qaulity ones lightly distorts high end boosts.
i just use FLs parametric 2.
wish i knew more.

does enybody know of a good eq for my second hihat?
i have a great one for the first but need something specific for the second one!!
come on dude... any kind of the known eqs will do the job.. use the one you use on drums for the pads.
i still use for the past 6-7 years flstudios parametric eq 1 for pretty much everything exept mastering
for god sakes

THEY say (the clever ones), that different EQs have adds different character to the sound. i believe them.
It's the same thing with using different types of compressors <- some character is added. they use words like 'bite' and 'color' to discribe this character
I struggle to hear these differences. on some compressors its obvious.
i guess it takes years of experience to actually notice/know the differences
aparenly the UAD and Solankis ones is of high quality. |

Fat DAta,
i also use the parametic1 on most channels to save CPU.
parametric2 is a bit heavy.
hey, if it's good enough for you, it's good enough for me.

its like that Flemming(or whomever) dude said on the vids posted on that thread the other day..
He knew that one specific EQlizer would give him that spesial 'something'(don't know what).
