I know there are no rules for EQ but im having a little problems separating the freqiencies of my leads, i mostly do 303 type of leads and harsh and high leads(what a strange description)anyway i ned some andvice on wich frequecies should i tweak. |

Simply high passing the low frequencies does the trick for me. I mostly take care when programming pacthes and arranging the parts to avoid cluttering a mix.

I was reffering to a high pass EQ on the channel to get rid of everything below 120Hz for example, not the high pass filter on the synth. A resonant high pass synth filter sweep will have shedloads of low end when the cut-off goes into the low registers.

i also cut the lows on all leads to make room for the bottom end of the track.
during making of synth patches, i have an eye on which patches work together, complement each other etc. also i write the lines such that not many notes of different synths occur at the same time, if this is not necessary.
