I'm out visiting my parents, I just got my laptop back from being fixed, and I only have someone else's old headphones.........

...............I miss my subwoofer!

Anyway, I was killing time working on a track and I don't really know how the bass sounds, I can't hear much below 100hz.

So if anyone could let me know how it sounds and any other advice is always welcome.

Thanks

put an analizer on ur bass track check whats the first harmonic of it, and pull it with an equalizer, u can do that without hearin those harmonics. just dont pull too much

about the snare i also agree , its too bright, remove the equalizer from the snare and use short reverb in a send channel and maybe distortion to give precense...

im taste i dont like to pull brightness from the snare with equalizers, it steals the places of the hats...or even make the snares sounds like hats...

Imo all is fine (Sure its only just a sketch But i try see more far then that) . seemes theres is an badly sound at the mix work (Maybe each sound sound good but sounds are not in place) and sure here is the big part but other this all sound cool and nice But i agree with Minus in some points .

The style is interesting , Deferent and new , Bring more mello pads and atmospheres and add 1-2-3 more loops in to be more spacy , Rhythmical and open . Put the bas in the front , Dont be shy , This kind of music bass must be alive , Real and here - With us .

Keep the good work .

Yeah, I had actually made a few subsequent version of this but then my laptop died again! SO I gotta bring it back to the fixer guy.

That prominant snare was in a drum loop so I just tweeked the compression on the loop a bit (I think I increased the output gain by about 1.5 db?) and that tamed the snare and brought more of the loop into the mix. And I had added some automation to keep the bass balanced throughout.

SO if I can manage to get my laptop up and running again I will try and get back to you guys with a cleaner mix.

Thanks for the advice!
