On Beatport, a lot of labels put out EPs containing two tunes.
Whereas in my breakbeat days, all the records I released, had two tunes, one on side A and one on side AA (B) at 45rpm. They were all singles. EPs where usually two records with 4 tunes. Times have changed.

If you want to release them, send demos in order to find a label that is interested in your music.
Or make some more and release an album. Or make some more and don't worry about releasing them, just keep making music for no other reason besides sanity maintenance...the possibilities are endless
Peace out.

EP is outdated terminology that doesn't make sense in the digital era. I have been discouraging its use on Ektoplazm but it leaves a bit of a gap: how exactly do you distinguish between an album and a single/EP/mini-album/whatever? No idea, so I've left it as "artist" - "title of release" with no EP or other designator.

I have and still, with digital, just take it to mean there's just 2 to 4 songs on it.
It effectively differentiates it from a full length album of 6 or more songs.
In that way it's useful to me to have it in the title, so I know how many tracks to expect (and also expect they might be remixes).
(unless it's punk rock, then it could be 22 ultra fast, short bursts of hardcore adrenaline (DRI's first ep)). |

And EP is also something to alert the people for a forthcoming album, by the artist. Like The Antidote' "The White" EP... and then shortly he released "The White" LP...although the best tunes where on the EP and where not included in the album.

The idea is to have only very interesting tunes. After that it comes down to how much "say" the label has into what is going on the EP and what on the LP.
If for example you have an ablum with tunes that range from 136 BPM to 145, you wouldn't want to put only the 136 tunes on the EP as you'd give the wrong idea, of what the LP is going to be like.
...or summat...
