Envelopes out of time with midi notes

Not sure if this is a bug in ableton, or if i just need a real soundcard (just using an inbuilt realtek one at the moment), what do you think?
I'm having a problem with the clip envelopes.. they're out of time with the midi notes (the envelopes are played before the notes). I've tried it with different instruments (both with VSTS and ableton instruments) and the same thing happens. It's in time if there's only the one track playing, but once i start adding more and more other tracks and VSTs, the problem gets worse. I'm using this clip to check the sync problem:

So you should only be able to hear the higher notes as the volume envelope only contains these. But when i play it, I can hear both the low notes and high notes! As stated, the problem goes away after I delete all the other tracks.
I've also tried different sound drivers and sample rates, and changing the track delay... same thing happens.
This also happens with envelopes in the arrangement view.
Running Live 7.0.3 on windows xp, 1.73 GHz. |

Guess u will have to move the 'clip envelopes' a bit further in time to fit ur needs.

Is it only happening with a particular VSTi or all VSTi??
I just tried using Albino and Ableton 6.07 and there is no clip envelope problem for me.. |

I worked out what was causing the problem. Some of the other tracks had delays on them, as soon as I removed the track delays, the envelopes sync'd up properly. Am I crazy or does this make no sense? Delays on other tracks shouldn't have any effect on the track in question.
Anyways, I won't be using track delays anymore... Not that hard to just shift things in the arrangement view. |
