do u use envelopes on bass ???
if so wat are ur usual settings.
I use Vb1 as of now but plannin to move on to vanguard and muan tao... jus asking |

yes, one usually uses a filter cutoff envelope to make the 'attack' of the bass

On the VCA: Fastest attack and release possible (without clicking) in order to have really tight notes. Full sustain.
On the filter: Depends whether I want it to open or close right after the trigger, how fast I want the cut-off to decay to the sustain stage. The release won't make a difference if the release on the VCA is as fast as possible.
For the typical full-on psy-trance bassline that everyone and their dogs do, set the fastest attack, a fast decay time (depending on how fast you want the cut-off to go down) and a sustain stage that has a bit of harmonic content present, but not much. Use this as a rough guide, and your ears to fine tune the result.
Good thing you are not going to be using VB-1 anymore
