For the next two hours I changed things around a bunch, and, as you say, created a fully different experience than the previous DJs - and the crowd loved it, i had a full dancefloor the whole 2 hours.
Just to show that there are no 100% formulas when it comes to DJing. That's why we have people and not machines doing it (hopefully.)

Exactly what i mean. but it also depends on ur crowd. Do Dj's actually work according to teh crowd or is it more like 'their here, i can play whatever i feel like'. (which i see happens often)
@Full-on
Dude, i wud do teh same thing u said. I would take off and rightsly so, witha few tracks i can chaneg the atmosphere. Actually it would be a little challengin but why not!!

and also according to me in our scene the dj's are respected and valued very much compared to other scenes so once a dj comes to play people are ready to begin a new journey with his music so even if a dj palys only the 1st track in the set with rhythm to theprevious dj is fine and not teh whoel set... |

Hmm.. I dunno if I understood your statement correctly..
But.. Djs more respected and valued than in other scenes ? what do you mean ?
Anyways, when it's about changing the dj (not ending the party then) the best experiences I had are definitaly not in Psytrance but back in the mid-90's when i used to go out in techno, and when the two deejays (previous and next) were doing a "ping-pong" together.. playing 2-3 each and then the next deejay goes on.
I witnessed this a few times only, but each time I was thinking : "now that's the vibe"..
