The review:

I got this almost a year back upon initial release, and haven't seen a proper review of this yet. Since I just recently popped it into my cd-player again and realized just how good this is, I decided to give it a go on a review. So here goes.

Track 1: Starting off with some atmospherics, samples, haunting pads and this is sounding like something Xenomorph would produce. It's short, it's an intro after all...

Track 2: Continuing where track 1 left off with the same atmospherics, some samples and a chant that sounds as if it's being sung inside a cave, hehehe. A bass and kick come in, some hihats but the haunting melodies remain. Around 2:12 the track really takes off, with the bassline gaining in strength. Acid squelches all around, but the haunting atmosphere still persists. Lovin' this. A good track. Nice title too, it fits the atmosphere nicely

Track 3: Atmospherics, samples, but the bass and kick come in at 0:44 secs already and we're off. Dark pads, acid squelches, it seems to set the standard for this album so far. Anyway, it continues in a kinda hypnotic fashion and it ends before you know it. Great stuff.

Track 4: Starts off with some sampling, bass and kick follow not shortly thereafter. Sounds fly across the speakers and it all builds up to become one darkminded track again. It squelches with its acidnoises, dark pads and around the 5 minute mark some sampled singing comes in. It's in a language I don't understand but it sounds pretty haunting. The song builds and continues from there. And that sample: This is my triggered response, you stepped on a trigger! Good for you! hehehe, it's hilarious really. Anyway, this was the title track and it's good.

Track 5: Atmospherics, a sample (sounds kinda like Mulder from the X-Files) and a bass and kick come in again and we're off once more. Droplets of acid behind it all, a snaredrum and this is moving into more straight darkpsy territories. Still, the haunting atmospherics in the background remain, which does set this apart from your average 'darkpsy' Anyway, it gets wilder near the end and it's a good track again.

Track 6: Starts off with some sampling, chants and then a dry bassline and kick come in. Some samples again and more pronounced hi-hats. Again, like track 5, this is somewhat more like standard darkpsy. Has a nice bouncy feel to it that I quite like. The tingling high sounds in it are a nice diversion for once, but they tend to get on my nerves. Luckily it doesn't last long and around 4:30 we delve into darker territory again. The acidic stuff that follows next stays until the end. Good track once again.

Track 7: Takes off where track 6 ends, as if they were a 2-parter together. Anyway, this one doesn't take long to get going, how about in the first few seconds?? Squelching acidic sounds fly all over the place, a hauting padsound in the back once again. Percussions slowly creep in and we're off with what is shaping up to be another stormer Nice work on the sounds behind the track. Some more samples at 6:30 and then the track keeps pounding until the end. Great stuff.

Track 8: And again it sounds like it just seamlessly blends over and this one doesn't take time to get going either. Sounds are frantically flying all over and this is altogether pretty psychedelic stuff, just like the last few tracks. Nice work on the acidic lead in this. Nice track.

Track 9: And we're into acidland again. Changing keys on the bassline, and a pounding dark feel to it. Good stuff. There's not much else to be said about this one. If you liked the tracks before you'll love this one.

Track 10: On to the final track. Lower on BPM, but the samples, dark atmospheres and acidic squelches are still present. It all adds up to become one atmospheric last track with a definite kick to it instead of the usual chill-out fodder some artists seem to go for. Nice way to end this all.

Conclusion: Damn, that was a ride!! Dark, haunting, pounding and most of all, psychedelic and dripping in acid. If you happen to like darkpsy you can't afford to miss this one. Get it while you can. I know for a fact Saikosounds still ships it, and it's pretty cheap there too. 9/10 from me here and that is a note I rarely give to this kind of psytrance.

Top album... after hearing a few of his tracks on recent comps I had to get this. Quite different to what I expected but very creative, very atmospheric and incredibly danceable.

This guy's my one to watch

surprised not many people have written reviews on this. agreed that this is a blastin album which took me for a surprise. Have been watchin out for Encephalopaticys since this release and always top quality psychedelia, especially one of latest tracks Sumava Therapy.
Definetly one of the artists to always watch out for in the future. It is not one of the weak noisy headache givin "dark" psychedelia artists. Very unique and deep musiq here.

I give it 8.5/10 Would love to ear it in middle of forrest for full effect

its funny people are talking about this now .. because if you compare this with what he's been releasing lately its sooo different...

in psychotermic meditation ...his style is very very hard and noisy at times ...

now his releases have a very subtle and atmospheric psychedelic touch to them .. like on bhooteshwara, zaikaldelic, etc

i feel music on psychotermic meditation is the old encephalopaticys...
