Hi folks,
I have the following piece of hardware:
http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/XSessionPro.html
I won't be able to purchase any hardware for at least a couple of months but I'm diving into production...In lots of tutorials/synths it is quite common to have a pitch bend or something set so that the Mod Wheel controls it..but I have no mod wheel.
Is there a way I can set up my cross fade or a knob to act as a Mod Wheel? If not, is there some way that I can set up the cross fade/knob in a way that would be similar?
thanks in advance |

each parameter in midi have a number.
- Bank Select (cc#0/32)
- Modulation Depth (cc#1)
- Portamento Time (cc#5)
- Channel Volume (cc#7)
- Pan (cc#10)
- Expression (cc#11)
- Hold1 (Damper) (cc#64)
- Portamento ON/OFF (cc#65)
- Sostenuto (cc#66)
- Soft (cc#67)
- Filter Resonance (Timbre/Harmonic Intensity) (cc#71)
- Release Time (cc#72)
- Attack time (cc#73)
- Brightness (cutoff) (cc#74)
- Decay Time (cc#75) (new message)
- Vibrato Rate (cc#76) (new message)
- Vibrato Depth (cc#77) (new message)
- Vibrato Delay (cc#78) (new message)
- Reverb Send Level (cc#91)
- Chorus Send Level (cc#93)
- Data Entry (cc#6/38)
- RPN LSB/MSB (cc#100/101)
so you can actualy link any controller to any of this parameters.
could someone explain how to exacly do that.. both for vst and for hardware synths. thanx

Septa..lol..I have no problem mapping my MIDI controller to knobs...its easy all I do is click MIDI then click the parameter move the knob presto, its not like I didn't read the manual this is a very specific question
in Albino I click ECS or w/e then click the parameter...
I'm specifically asking about the Mod Wheel though...for instance in the Modulation Matrix inside albino one of the potential sources is mod wheel and if you actually have a mod wheel then you can easily move it for a nice tactile pitch bend, or w/e you set the destination to.
However, if you are not in possession of a controller with said Mod Wheel is there a way to turn one of the knobs/faders INTO a mod wheel through software???? |

If that's what you want then Mod Wheel is just like any another knob. Why would you want to give another knob the Mod Wheel status?
Unless you're using software that can receive only Mod Wheel CC, which is unlikely to happen...
