After several years of use the EMU/creative drivers for my 1820M have given no trouble.
I gave you that forum link so you could read the -ve AND the +ve feedback from actual users of these cards.
There are many satisfied customers and some of these ppl praise the performance & value of the EMU interfaces on the forum.
I can't vouch for the 1616M but for me the 1820M has been a great interface especially at the price.
Many ppl reported problems with the 1820 series also but I bet the majority have had a trouble free run like I have so take any negative comments in context  |
