Trancelucent Productions and Ambrosia
Delighted to present our new V/A release:
Empty Hand
Empty Hand originates in the translation of the Japanese word Kara (empty), te (hand), thus Empty Hand=Karate.
Traditional Karate is a beautiful, ancient, weapon less art of self-defense.
In the practice of karate the mind and body are inseparable: They harmonize with each other.
Karate practice is divided into three aspects: Kihon (basics), Kata (forms) and Kumite (sparring).
Karate can be learned by anyone, regardless of age, physical strength and state.
Through karate one unlearns bad habits accumulated through modern life: movement, posture, breathing, as well as mental and psychological obstacles.
In Karate there is no first attack.
This album is dedicated to this precious & humble way of life, it is composed of 9 mind-blowing masterpieces, created by 11 exceptional innovative Israeli artists that each give his thought, moves and ideas.
The album opens with an Intro (10 tracks all together), which leads the listener to the beginning of a journey, sliding through and resembling the complexity, cleanness, richness and beauty of karate, its amazing history thoughts and perceptions.
The album varies in sound and style crossing through psytrance genres, moving from progressive to full on, minimal to ambient with touches of groove and solid bass lines.
Rich and complicated just like the art of Karate.
At times aggressive & powerful at times soft & sweet, but always in focus and control.
Most sections of the album are bilingual basically all txt is written in English and Japanese.
77:26 minutes of sheer excitement.
Goju Ryu: Go - hard or positive VS. Ju - soft or negative
Goju ryu is said to display the oldest martial arts traditions. Keeping the primitive traditional forms of martial arts yet full of fighting spirit.
The system is based on a concept that hard and stiff is not good, however all soft and gentle can be equally harmful. The two gives Go-Ju Ryu its beauty, disciplined movements, grace and flowing form. With Go and Ju in consistent harmony, one equalizes the other as with the rest of the universe.
Kata: The heart of Karate
In Kata we find the fundamentals of karate, it is the spirit of the performance that is the essence of the Kata. A Kata is a pattern of movements, which contains a series of logical and practical attacking and blocking techniques. Over 1600 years ago Chinese Buddhist monks used to practice Kata for the purpose of strengthening the spirit as well as the body.
In Karate there is no first attack - Every Kata begins with a defensive movement, which exemplifies the spirit.
Kumite (sparring):
In real karate there is no such thing as full-contact sparring. Full contact karate is deadly and it can kill people. Real karate men and women never get involved in full contact anything. The only situation where full contact is allowed is when you are fighting for your life or for the life and safety of someone else.
