Introduction

Apres Midi divides to two parts, home listening and club pop shows. Soft, melodic and emotional. It's minimal layout used well, does not bore the soul. For every easy listening / acid jazz fan it can be a good buy.

Favorites:
-Only Sleep, has great melodic atmosphere. -Nothing Ever Happens, has emotional ability which can't be found in other progressive music today
-The Things That Flow Through, has a great violin line bit of "Requiem for a Dream".
-I'll Be There, minor / tragic sing i love.
-Overall, great easy listening tunes

Weaknesses: Some vocal parts are pointless like Micheal Jackson scream at The Things That Flow Through or pitched voice at Do The Livin's pauses remind male amateur sing. Bit too much minimal but can keep a vibe alive. I think this album's tracks are chronological incorrectly ordered.

Ranks - 8.5/10

P.s. this is my first review so do not judge it so much.

Compared to many other producers from the psy/progressive scene, Emou have a lot of talent in their vocal-work. That being said, the vocals do tend to get a bit over the top in some of the tracks, but overall it’s a pretty good album.

The opener "Apres Midi" with the jazzy influences is definitely one of the highlights, and of the vocal-tracks "Can’t Stop", "Yours" and "Rome" are the strongest in my opinion. "Can’t Stop" is probably one of the best tracks with "pop-vocals" from 2004, and the hilarious "Rome wasn’t built in a day" mantra from "Rome" makes it the perfect theme-track for all the stoners out there

A bit different than the usual psytrance-related downbeat release, and certainly worth checking out – still, I prefer the first album though.
