It doesn't look like a memory problem.
But when does it happen?
does it happen in EXS?
or does it say that too many files are open?
what is the error description?

When do you get the error message?
As far as i remember this is the error code you get when audio files used by EXS are read-only. Just remove the read-only on all your samples.
I might be wrong though. Might be code 41 I just described but give it a try. |

i got it since i start using my new rme800.
It doesnt happen to all projects but if it does it cant load any of the plugs or samples are used.
It doesnt sound like memory prob too...
It does it more often when a new vst hang ups logic or if its vst 2..
My googling told me that 41 is about exs as AvS told ,nothing about 42..
On the other hand ,even if plugs are installed in vstinstruments folder without subfolders they may not load..but this its not the same i guess..

I think it's a soundcard problem.
I suggest you install another soundcard to check how it works.
uninstall rme.
