Hi, I'm using Emagic ES1 and ESM for bass with soundforge kicks. Am doing busy rolling basslines but not getting them as fat as I want on outdoor systems. Im eq-ing by subtracting and adding frequencies of the bass but I find boosting frequencies too much loses the definition of the bass sound. When compressing the bass and kick together, should I be finding this fatness? I like the sound of these synths - does anybody use them for bass? Should I master them before I play them out ? Am I asking too many questions....

I usually double my basslines with a synth playing the same line an octave higher with a very short decay, and sometimes run through a highpass filter so that it doesn't interfere with the original bassline.

This has the effect of making the bassline "sharper". Most good kicks have lots of high freq information in their attack; it's the same concept.

Your basslines rock, you need to get some more sleep.

or chorus
but ultimately it all boils down to how you EQ your bassline.           "We Do Not Allways See Things As They Are. We See Things As We Are" -Ancient Chinese Proverb

you shure have to master the track before you go and check it on outdoor pa, and some would say even compress+eq after you finalize.

it could be also great if you can find a piece of track that you trust as the sound you want to reach, that can be your referencee and then the monitoring isues problems will take a smaller part in your descisions.
