Elestial Records, Dymons, Druids Brew, 2007
Hi ! This is Daniel Symons aka Dymons (sometimes misspelt Dyamonds, Dymonds,...)
I founded Elestial Records to unite musical genres of different cultures of the globe, the universe and beyond... for the benefit of all beings...
This first solo album “Druids Brew” is a potion made of the many influences I was blessed with traveling through space, time and beyond...
Although very dub oriented this album flows through a multitude of styles and atmospheres...
I spent a few years on the road gathering ambient sounds into a little black box and many musical influences from all continents. This is a journey through a wide diversity of soundscapes.
The album features a Master of Santeria(Afro-Cuban Mysticism) on the congas, a talented griot from West Africa on tama, cabasa and n’goni(traditional African guitar), a Divine female voice from the Berber tribe and much more...
Fat driving bass lines, grooving drum beats, pulsing skanks, ethnic and contemporary sounds dance together in a psychedelic fashion for you to sit back and enjoy the ride or move you feet to the beats either way it should take you on a trip!
Genre: Ranges through Ambient, Chill, Dub, Breaks, Tribal/Ethnic, World Beat, Electronica, Downtempo, Progressive and PsyTrance,.. Mostly being a mixture of all these with quite a psychedelic edge...
Track List :
1. One Drop or Two 8:18
2. Gathering of Lights 8:57
3. El Jaguar 7:49
4. Sparkles 7:59
5. Wakan Tanka 10:22
6. Beyond the Continuum 8:15
7. Blessings 19:20
All tracks are written, mixed and produced by Daniel Symons @ Alchemy Studios, Switzerland
The mastering was done by Kevin Metcalfe @ Soundmasters Studio, London

Hey Folks !
A little review for this release...
Blessings
Dan
STYLE
Dub chill electronic instrumentals liberally coloured with ethnic sounds. Druid's Brew is heady twilight collection with a tribal bent nodding along to infectious dub-reggae rhythms. The synth work on the album is largely comprised of a fairly acidic, effervescent sound palette - squirting, burbling arps and phrases that are often strongly effected and constantly morphing. Underpinning this techno tapestry are bobbing, gutsy bass lines that drive the offbeat keyboard stabs and downtempo beats. Global instrumentation comes in the form of live performance and sampled sound - flutes, strings, guitars and glissendar as well as various percussives: congas, shakers, bells, djembe, darbouka and so forth. Some strong vocal performances from singer Amina Djahnine grace two of the tracks here. Other voices float musing through the air whilst a variety of natural sounds - water, birds, night time ambiences - add to the late hour atmosphere that pervades the whole CD.
ARTWORK
A tribal psychedelic montage fills the front cover with masked figures glowing in firelight against a star encrusted sky crisscrossed with radial lines. A graphic diamond sits centrally mirroring the artist logo. On the rear, the star theme is further developed, glowing brightly in kaleidoscopic regularity here as backdrop to the tracklist. The inner sleeve of this jewelcase package repeats the tracklist along with a full list of credits and contact details. Opening out, this two panel sheet reveals a generous full spread given over to thanks.
OVERALL
Daniel Symons has worked with drums and global music for many years now playing with various music, dance and trance therapy workshops around the globe. His solo project Dymons is primarily a live dub act, but he also works under the psytrance title Dragons and performs with The Peaking Goddess Collective. This release comes via Elestial Records billed as "Music for the Body, the Soul and the Spirit - a digital & ethnic dub journey". There's naturally plenty of rhythmic action here featuring drums and percussive instruments from around the globe.
WHO WILL LIKE THIS ALBUM
This is a chill album that is strong on rhythm, percussive aspects of the mix driving the sound. Go for this one if you enjoy vivid colour and international fusion to dance to.

i keep meaning to send my most heartfelt recommendations for this release, and here they are. sorry for the delay, this has a been a fav for a long time now. as a serious world music/fusion lover this release delivers big time. heavy on world instrumentation and pure vibe this fits right into a rare space few others can reach. the talent here is divine...
i often get sidetracked between the day to day life of the ordinary routine... but this music fits right in to your life story where ever you may be and gently yet powerfully gives you a nod toward something more...
the cool thing about this release is how many people gravitate toward it when playing it amongst socially diverse crowds.
something going on here for sure. sweet music dymons!
ps. on a side note, even though not on this release...
"fruits of eden" is beyond the beyond man.. no words can touch that one, except thank you

Calling all Shamen: grab a spliff and the keys to your flying saucer, we’re listening to “Druid’s Brew!”. As Dymons takes us on a journey through hypnotic tribal rhythms, Rasta-approved chords hitting the upbeat and full-bodied ambience, one begins to lose track of time and space.
The album does a fine job of telling a story, starting with a proper introductory track, moving into the vocal hit Gathering of Lights featuring the beautiful vocals of Amina Djahnine. Once this song hits, I return to that moment at a festival that so many of us chillers are familiar with: dancing barefoot on the grass slowly and passionately, savoring the divinity of the moment, and letting the music fill you with an overwhelming feeling of contentedness.
The album maintains this moment for me through the next few tracks, producing a meditative listening experience. Dymons moves us through elements of dub, tribal, and trance rhythms. The soundscapes are very colorful and polished, and the instruments are widely varied and well placed. You really get the feeling that each track tells a chapter of the whole story, leading up to the magnificent nineteen-minute conclusion, Blessings. This track is a true dub epic, which stands out in my mind as one of the finest works in our little genre I’ve heard in recent times. Vocalist Amina Djahnine returns with another haunting siren song lightly placed over an exotic, melodic, dreamy, dubby bed of sound. The main thread of the track weaves in and out, making itself present enough to make the track whole, but vanishing for long enough to allow one to get lost in the mood. I am also always happy to hear a bit of psychedelic spoken word in moments like these, in this case we hear Ralph Metzner emcee a few lines here and there.
Recomendation: If you didn’t already get my message: I would highly, highly, recommend this album to everyone out there who’s experienced some inner peace; to the people who appreciate the mystery of life; and to the people who know all about the hardships of life but continue to shine their smiling faces. Much respect to Dymons for his efforts, but this album was created through him by something greater.
