I have the td3 only the snare is mesh. I got it very recently. I don't really care about the slightly better module on the td4 because I only use the midi out synced with abletons drum sampler.
As far as I can see the you pay a lot more for the later module. And the drum kit is still the same. Unless you go full mesh on the toms 2.
The mesh pads makes a difference and worth the extra money, but for my purpose the rubber ones will do until my skills justify the upgrade.
I tried it with battery3 and it's a big mission to get it fully functioning with velocity dynamics and all the rim shots and choke feature on the cymbals. Takes a long time to make a decent set.
It's works fine with albeton's kits. Just have to swap a few sample places.Still mission with choke and all. I wish there was vst drum samplers that was specifically made for this roland. And with the midi-out there no latency that my ears can detect, makes it awesome to jam with my tracks. Anyway I love this kit ,great fun to have it in the studio.
Let me know if you have any questions

Sorted, the guy I used to work in the bar with, left to the states to get into a new band and has left his Yamaha DTX III kit back in his Athens house.
Getting it for 350euros
Thanks for contributing mate.
Peace out.

Nah, they are midi drums, its all in the headphones/monitors, means I can play at night...etc.
Just need to get some Toontrack drum kits now and get on with it

Its hard to tell from this pic, but that is actually a Beagle. One of my two boys (Fotis), the other one is a Jack Russel (Aristotelis).

Love it. Its a tenor Yamaha YTS 275. Not light on the key action, but my skills do not justify a Selmer...yet
Peace out.

Thats practical thinking ;-)
About getting used to kick pedal;
with fast repetitive 4x4s its nearly impossible to stay in rythm. It all sounds well until you press record and listen how much out of sync to actually are. Thank ford for the quantize.. Or manual edits.
