I was wondering how you do if you have a loop and want to, for instance, have one hit of it with a giant reverb, but not the other ones. What's the best and easiest method of doing this?
I have tried to use automation in the background to do it, and it works, but it's hard and defenitevly not very stable.
Also I understand that if the loop is in Audio, then you can slice the loop up and divide the parts into different channels and add effects to them. But this will not work if it's a midi loop you create in the Matrix editor (Logic).
Anyone knows a good way?

That was a good idea!
Never though of that you could record the midi as audio.
And Intakt looks nice also.
Thanks

if you're working in cubase, it's much easier.
slice up the audio sample, silence the rest, export the unsilenced sliced audio bit and you're set to go with the effects.           "We Do Not Allways See Things As They Are. We See Things As We Are" -Ancient Chinese Proverb

Now it came to my mind,
How do you record the midi-channel to the audio-channel? You shouldn't need to bounce it, or? It must exist a more flexible way doing it.

Just mark the channel as Solo, mark the required area in the timeline, mixdown, and whoops

That's what I do...

It doesn't seem to work. I route the audioinstrument to the audio-track. And then? Shall I hit rec on the audio-track? It doesn't "feel" the output of the audiointrument.

About the first question, I usualy do like this (assuming you work with several tracks), I cut the Hit region of the audio file (first beat for example) and simply drag it down to another track leaving the rest of the file where it is. Then I put a plug in this second track...           "The Light Children Are Awakening!"
