I think your policy re: editing posts must be changed. I am a promoter from Australia and I'm sick of having to contact a "moderator" everytime I want to add new info to posts.
If you dont wish to giva all users this feature then please consider giving it to promoters.

and why should promoters change their posts and not just add a correction post in their thread?

Well, one would assume if he or she is posting details on an event that they are or would be posting on behalf of the promoter.
You could also ask moderators who would/should know if the person posting is or isn't legitimate.

Why?
Because the thread becomes messy, and depending on the length of the thread users may have to sift through pages and pages to find updated info!
I mean really, what exactly is the point to bringing in this ridiculous "rule" in the first place. What is it achieving exactly?\

redline: we run forum for 4 years and had everything in the beginning. try search forum and get answers to your questions. it really helps.
the editing won't be enabled. behaviour is by design.
