How would you edit a track that you really like, but there is a part in it that you would change or leave out of the final mixdown. What is the track and by what artist.

My pick is "Lost in Space" by Penta. I love his production and this is my favorite track by Penta but there is a sample there that's just nearly killing it for me. A male voice sais something like: "Can you modify the process(???)"
The sample goes on and on for about 2 minutes. I would change this to make the track better because i don't think that that's a vital element of the track. It can do just as good without it.

how about you?

The only thing that I would to in order to improve a track is to make the volume on the system louder.

It seems you are really talking nonsence since the album have 8 tracks:

1 - Disgusting Creatures - Princess Mononoke sample.
2 - Leave a Message --> Species II sample.
3 - 1190 --> Unknow.
4 - Collaboration
5 - Neurotic Cell
6 - Time Warp --> Random TV sample (superball game)
7 - Lost in Space --> Star Trekk 4 samples.
8 - Every Machine --> Final Fantasy sample.

So it seems that only one track has samples from Final Fantasy, so please check the facts before giving the wrong information.

I think Lost in Space is an excelent track... No need to modify that, except if it is done by Nikita himself.

I think it's the first Penta album, while volvox talks about the second one.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

And thus a new topic is born from a topic which (originally) did not have in mind to become a discussion about Penta's two albums. Doh!!! But then again, it shows the intellect of most people on this forum, hehehe

Anyway, to name a track that I'd like to remix I'd have to say: "Waking life" by Earthling vs Bushman. There's a point in this track where a nice melody is building up, it goes on a while without beat and then, just when you think it'll totally take off with that melody and the beat and everything, it just plods along with a standard bassline and beat. It totally ruins the track IMO and this is something I would change, just by continuing with the melody and keep on building to produce a climax effect. This is what psytrance (to me) is about, but a lot of producers have forgotten that apparently.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

OT: I think Volvox is talking about the 1st album, which was full of Final Fantasy samples, sure... The new album has no Final Fantasy samples.           Penta Website - http://www.pentafiles.com
