as far as I know - Echo cards are pretty old - though Creamware has allways updating their soundcards with new os versions etc.

Trip, i guess you meant the old 20 bit Echo cards.
Echo cards are 96/24, great sound cards. AFAIK, They (especially the Layla24) have better converters than those that come with the Creamware card.
Furthermore, Echo cards support all music proggs, in many audio protocols (Asio, MME, DX), as oppose to Creamware cards.
I have a Layla24 and quite pleased with it.
Anyway, check the RME hammerfall. It's suppose to be quite a something.

Oh, Layla24 is sold in Halilit for like 5000 NIS, probably more due to current dollar value.
Creamware cards are sold in Music shop in TA, don't have exact prices.
You should consider buying a card abroad; The prices in Israel are outrageous. |

I have the Layla 24 as well and I think its pretty good. Other good alternatives are RME Hammerfall cards, try Nuendo. Or if u can spare the $$ go for MOTU. |
