I have already explained cubase to a couple of absolut beginners, and with the right instruction they usually learned to use the basics within 10-20hours.

I think thats nothing. I maybe explained things for 5 hours the rest they trained theirselves.

If you don't have somebody to come over a couple of times and show you the first steps, or If this is too long cubase isn't possibly the best to start.           Most of my music for you to download at:

As I have already mentioned in other topics some time now, after Acid 6.0 was out a few months before, Cubase dropped dead in my eyes instantly. And i was using it since the early 90's when it still was on version 3.1 for Atari.

Just try Acid 6.0, you've got nothing to loose.           A friend told me once that the biggest mistake we make is that we believe we live, when in reality we are sleeping in the waiting room of life.

Simply try all if you can. I thing its a matter of preference and practice which makes sequenzer "easy".
Lome find Cubase easy, some Logic. Some even find Hardware Sequencers more usable. Just play around and have fun. After some time you find the one you "like" to use and get things done.

if you wanna play arround, then go with FL studio. but if you really serious about music production then you have to use an adequate sequencer. most popular choice would be, logic, cubase or sonar.
if your production will be based mostly vst then sonar is out. it has a really buggy vst engine.( im talking about the nwest sonar 6).
for logic you need MAC. if you have a pc, then cubase is the choise.

anyway here is a link where you can buy dvd video tutorials of popular sequencers, they teach you step by step every thing there is to know about the sequencer.

here are some sample videos from the dvd, take a look.

good luck.

So I'm thinking of finally making the move from FL to something else. Been messing around with Ableton Live a little, and so far it's pretty good. But it keeps crashing on me for no reason.. I've tried Cubase too, but I don't find as intuitive as FL og Live. Guess I'll keep going with Live then. What's Sonar like though?
And is it even worth 'upgrading' to another sequencer? I know FL like the back of my cock
