Hi guys, can i has some tips on how to create those textury gritty sounds that feel so inside my ears / mind specially when high.

I have no specific example to post... but maybe you know what i mean, currently i experiment with HP filter modulations + distortion / bit reduction.

Any tips?

Thanks orgy...

I'm a lot closer now... using below C0 octaves with an mild FM saw sound hp / bp filters + distortion and other plugs for trippyness enhaced...

I felt i hit it when tried lower than normal octaves, that gives a very detailed feel to the sound, i guees those are the sawtooth harmonics clipping to the filter distortion... yummey.

thanks anyway isra dudes.

use the modwheel to bend pitch down (set to like 3 octaves or something) while sweeping bandpass filter up.

I usually get closest using FM synthesis, low pitch wav modulated by something higher, played at a really low pitch, then hi pass or bandpass filtered. Dash of distortion or overdrive usually helps. I think of them as 'scratchy' or 'crackly' sounds, usually, in my own private psytrance production vocabulary.

I know what you mean. These sounds seem to come right from inside your head sometimes.

Thanks bros... hey u guys know any synth that would allow 3 octave pitch sweeps? Most of them limit the range to 24 semis i believe (using wheel).

Set bend range to 18 semitones... play with pitchbend at max +ve, move pitchbend down to max -ve... job done.

Lol... i thought Shiranui meant +/- 3 octaves up / down 6 octaves total sweep... that would be awesome

Personally I use Massive which lets you sweep up and down as much as you want (you can bind any midi control to pitch)
