::Earthfreq - Music and Environmental Festival:::

February 17-19th - North NSW

RightiNtention Productions present the second installation of the Earth Frequence - 3 day gathering of the East Coast tribes.

Earthfreq is a weekend-long outdoor music and environment festival. The intention is to create a meaningful space where the local community and like minded visitors can gather together and unify on the central themes of landcare, earth reconnection and information exchange and celebrate with a lush night and day of music, dance and community vibes.

The gathering begins friday night, with a market stage program, and bush cinema. Saturday day will feature talks and workshops on local and global environmental issues.

The program for saturday day will be confirmed by the end of January and published on this webpage. Music starts late saturday afternoon with a tribal opening ceremony, and will run through the night and into sunday on two stages, showcasing some very special international guests alongside a range of djs and live acts chosen from all corners of the east coast, plus a full visual overload to light up the night.

::Talks / Workshops::

Bundjalung Custodians
The people of Bundjalung are bringing to the gathering, some amazing dreamtime stories, and will be welcoming the people to their land by a native opening ceremony for the main stage on the Saturday night.
“For many thousands of years, the Tweed Valley was a green paradise resting in the shadow of the majestic Wollumbin. The Bundjalung people enjoyed a warm sub-tropical climate. The landscape varied from towering mountains to the bountiful sea, providing an abundance of food and materials that met all their needs. Wollumbin, the mountain today known as Mt Warning.”

Ruth Rosenhek – Earth/Spirit/Action & Deep Ecology
Earth, Spirit, Action - The spiritual blight of separation -- from each other and the Earth -- plagues modern humanity and is the underlying root of the ecological and social crisis or our times; the culturally-conditioned, competitive, isolated self is the engine of the 6th extinction spasm currently unfolding around us. Ruth will discuss Deep Ecology and Consciousness in Action.
Ruth Rosenhek is an international environmental and social justice activist, educator and co-director of the Rainforest Information Centre in Lismore. Ruth organizes and campaigns on behalf of forest protection, land rights and global justice. Ruth facilitates experiential deep ecology workshops, teaches on spiritual engagement and is an active member of the Dharma Gaia Trust

Mark Graham & Rebecca Johnson
- Australian Biogeography
- Australian native foods and medicines
- Bush Walk
Mark Graham has spent most of his life traipsing the wilds of the North Coast of NSW. He is fascinated by the globally significant biodiversity of the region and works on a daily basis to hang on to it. Expect the unexpected when hearing Mark discuss the fascinating interactions of the creatures inhabiting the Richmond Range.

Alter-Native Drumming Circle
Come join the Alter Native's for an afternoon of drumming, learn something new and meet up with friends. Alter~Native unite the two ends of the dance music spectrum: the ancient driving rhythms of Africa and Latin America with ultra-modern ‘techno’ inspired basslines and soundscapes. Add samples taken from the Australian bush to this formula and we have an eclectic mix of organic and electronic sounds that are guaranteed to inspire minds and motivate dancing feet. Alter~Native are comprised of Justin Wilkinson and Darren Lee on percussion and drum kit, with Ben Whittaker creating live, trancey soundscapes and SFX. Justin and Darren are both formerly of well known Mid-North-Coast percussion group BOOM. They bring the same high-energy dance grooves and rhythmic subtleties that BOOM is renowned for to the Alter~Native sound. Ben has made a name for himself on the dance music scene as DJ b9 playing a quirky mix of retro samples and highly danceable beats. Together these musicians create an inspirational sound and a positive onstage vibe that has never failed to get the crowd moving. The progress of an Alter~Native set takes the crowd on a journey that begins with an ambient, Latin feel. Slowly evolving, the music builds in intensity and tempo with the addition of sounds and rhythms that climax in an all out driving ‘organic’ techno beat that always ‘raises the roof’: think Afro-Celt Sound System meets Chemical Brothers. Alter Native has just recently been recording in Byron Bay with Ganshka Records and SAE Studios. A release is on the table for late 2006, more info on this piece can be found on their website later on this year.

Angel Lautenbacher– Meditation/Yoga
Ambient Soundscapes compliment a progressive journey inward to find the centre of stillness and equilibrium. Yoga postures (Asana), Breathing excersizes (Pranayama), Meditation and reaxation tequniques facilitate a sensitising and harmonising of the entire body mind complex and a deeper awareness of the pranic or energetic body through awareness of the chakras and major energetic pathways.
Angel has been practicing yoga for the past 9 years and teaching for the past 3. She is eager to share Yoga not as mere physical excersise but as a practice leading to deeper awareness and inner transformation and as a stepping stome to a heathier lifestyle and a more intergtrated personality.
Begin the day with Yoga!
