Last time they were here I think they sat out for too long and ended up being really dirty and dark.

should be warm during day, cool at night. shouldn't get any colder than 50s at night in September, but ya never know. sweatshirts and jeans are more than enough usually, and sweatshirts are often removed once ya get dancin

Moline/Quad Cities is the closest.. maybe 1-1.5 hours.. then Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Chicago, St. Louis. in order..

There are a few airports nearby, but you might save money flying into a bigger airport.
Ones closest to the venue: cedar rapids airpot, quad cities airport, (dubuque has an airport, but I bet it's too expensive). There's an airport in Peoria, IL and Des Moines, IA, but they are also small. The only advantage of these is that you might be able to get someone to drive you to and from the airport-saving money on a car rental (depending on arrival and departure times).
I would suggest flying into Chicago, which is about a 4 hour drive to the venue (O'hare is bigger than Midway). I know that acidity on here is flying into chicago so you could pm him and possibly share a car. St. Louis is the next biggest and about 5 hours.
If you don't already know, use kayak.com to find the cheapest airfare
