It's a bit of everything, but the dance music is maily psy.
Derek does play psy sometimes, just not on radio.
He's a big fan of Nano records, Timecode and stuff like artists like Astrix. On his Podcast shows he often features full on artists and labels. You'lle be suprised.
Here's one of his trackslists from his website (It shocked me, all Timecode tunes)

Dude earthdance aint about Psy ... its about dancing to music...

i know what the concept of earth dance is and i know it isnt locked to psy, however here in CT, its traditionally always been a psy event....
so i was just saying....maybe i was more shocked to see Derek "the flanger" Bandit on what i presume to be a predominantly psy line up....

For me its not about the style ...... it's about street cred & the underground. I wont spill all the beans why on this public forum but I got 1st hand info on all this and I have been around.
Anyways good luck Ben and Red Eye crew with the party. Red Eye certainly bring a level of professionalism the Jhb version needed badly. I've been going to the CT one for the past few years, what a great party, put together by nano and friends. They are diversifying with a breaks/electro, I think its a great idea (inspired by Glade no doubt)

Cant wait for this, last year was the first time I enjoyed it again after many years, There was some proper trance again and that beach area is da shit. |
