EARTHDANCE SEQ 2006
Global Festival for Peace
Weekend 15-17 September

Givin' peace another dance...

On Saturday September 16th, 2006, in over 250 cities in 50 countries, the 10th annual Earthdance will once again unite in support of global peace and social justice.

Other Realm and Gooble Warming proudly present Earthdance SEQ, held outdoors near Brisbane on the weekend of the 15th-17th of September, 2006.

Earthdance aims to promote peace by joining participants worldwide in a synchronized ‘Prayer for Peace’, and to support humanitarian causes through the global language of music and dance. Earthdance has now grown to include a diverse cross-section of musical genres including world music, jazz, conscious hip-hop, folk and reggae.

The focus for this year’s Earthdance is the wisdom of indigenous peoples, and we invite all first peoples to join in the Prayer for Peace moment with healing prayers for the planet.

EARTHDANCE SEQ 06
This camping weekend for peace will feature workshops, bush activities, healing and chill space, camp-in psinema and a diverse program of entertainment, inviting participation from local independent bands, solo artists, electronic artists, djs, vjs, performers, visual artists, and of course, all you fun-k people out there!

The festival will culminate in the Prayer for Peace, and a traditional indigenous ceremony, it will be a time for us to reflect, and project our hopes for a future of peace.

THE SITE
A beautiful Aussie bush setting, Peak Crossing is located less than 1 hour southwest of Brisbane on the traditional lands of the Ugurapal people.

There is plenty of space for camping, but be early to ensure a good spot.
Earlybirds can arrive from 2pm on Friday, if you come before this, you will be expected to help !
Come prepared with your usual camping comforts, and settle in to the warm and intimate space we’ve created.

Please respect this site, it is by great privilege we can use it, please don’t abuse it.

Due to site sensitivity, directions to the site will be available 1 week before the event, and only from http://www.gooble.com.au/earthdance

Please come prepared
Partying in the Aussie bush means you will need to be prepared.
You will need to bring
• water, and plenty of it
• hat, sunscreen
• good covered shoes
• shade/shelter for your camp
• torch
*There will be a small refreshment stall onsite.

THE PROGRAM
Friday night is host to a Camp-In Bush Psinema. A feature film, documentaries, mocumentaries, and many more audio visual journeys will be showing throughout the night (starts 8pm). Snuggle up in the luxury of your camp and watch tv the whole night!
Or head over to the Chill Stage to lounge about by the fire, enjoy a sip and bite from the café.

The Saturday morning program includes workshops and activities such as bush craft, didge playing, circus skills, qigong, massage, frisbee games and much more. Bring your toys and games!

Then cruise through Saturday arvo, and into the evening, as the Main Stage heats up with the Concert for Peace. Featuring some of Brissy’s favo bands and djs, in an afternoon and evening of funkin out, getting’ groovy and goin’ wild!

Late into Saturday night, the tradition returns, and we Dance for Peace to a diverse and eclectic mixture of electronic tunes by local djs and musicians, enhanced with visuals and performance artists throughout the night.

On Sunday morning at 9am, the “Prayer for Peace” is played, followed by a traditional indigenous ceremony.
