Earthdance is a collective of event promoters around the planet, currently
numbering almost 100.
History is made by the activities of people like us! We invite you to join
us in realizing this truly global vision for humanity.
On Saturday, October 12th, The Earthdance International celebration will
once again unite the planet with dance in the name of global peace.
Earthdance 2002 will involve of tens of thousands of organizers, DJs,
performers and volunteers, hundreds of thousands of dancing partygoers at
stadiums, nightclubs, and open areas across five continents, and as many
more watching the event live over the world wide web.
The international celebrations in over one hundred cities will be happening
simultaneously and events in some countries will span three or more days and
nights. Every year, on the same day, at the same time the collective hold a
party to celebrate peace and raise funds and awareness for various
charities. The highlight of Earthdance is a global dance floor link up (12
midnight, October 13th, London time), when every DJ in every city plays a
special track called 'The Prayer for Peace' at the same time. This poignant
moment will unite all Earthdancers and the Internet audience around the
world in the spirit of compassion and for the raising of planetary human
consciousness.

Earthdance began in 1997 with 19 countries taking part. In its six years of
evolution, the international event has more than tripled in size, uniting
the world's dance party culture like nothing before it. Earthdance has shown
the world the positive spirit behind today's youth and their celebration of
dance music and their embrace of new technology as a means for bringing the
Earth together in peace.

We have just recieved an incredible news update from the Earthdance peace
front..!!!
IRAQ JOINS EARTHDANCE GLOBAL PEACE FESTIVAL -
PRAYER FOR PEACE WILL BE HELD IN BHAGDAD ON OCTOBER 12TH..!!
It has now been confirmed that Iraq wil be joining the Earthdance 2002, Global Peace celebrations. The news came today from international peace troubadour James Twyman who, inspired by the Earthdance peace event, will
travel to Bhagdad to join in the "prayer for peace" global link-up with citizens of Iraq on Earthdance day, October 12th.
James has gained wide international recognition for his "songs of peace" missions to war torn countries and has performed for the United Nations in New York and the State Capitol.
James comments..
"..This is the second time the government of Iraq has invited me to Baghdad when the threat of war seemed imminent. In 1998 millions of people from at least 80 countries focused their prayers on Iraq, and three days later a peaceful solution was achieved. This year the worldwide vigil is being coordinated with another international event called Earth Dance, a peace initiative being held in 106 cities around the world...."
We ask you all to please support this historic event and join with us on October 12th in San Francisco Golden Gate Park for the world's biggest
peace event. The timing of Earthdance 2002 could not be more critical. We need your support..!!!
