im really still trying to understand the environment im mixing in and i can tell you it sucks balls!!
PS do not mind the shitty arrangement. (just asking for sound quality)

Ableton does not suck balls at mixing bro.

Your file's quality sux, but i believe the problem is precisely your mix and not Live.

Percussion is deep in the mix, bass is too clikery, snare is not really audible, bass is too boomy, your synths are not bright enough.

I <3 ableton and can get pretty decent mixes at it.

hahaha ableton does not suck balls on the contrary, ableton is my program of choice i fucking love its sound quality
but im talkin about my room's acoustics are terrible and im mixing with my ears about 10cm away from ADAM A7s so its pretty shitty my set up...what can i do if my room i cannot change and neither my mixing position...how do i make sure everything is well balanced like what you mentioned above.
thanks

what you mean by this?
lease help me get better leads.
now, i understand that the bass is boomy but i want it to be that way...is it not good to keep it boomy and tweek the leads to make them louder?
how do i make a lead from a synth sound fuller without adding reverb or a delay or anything..when i compress to bring the low parts in it sounds way too boring and repetitive. so i cant figure the compromise out yet.           saii.rave.ca

well, i wouldn't say that this file's quality sux.

The sounds are ok at sources, but the mix needs to be improved, especially in low freqs - kick+bass combo, bass is too boomy indeed and it masks all the other stuff. I think, if you fix kick \ bass balance, everything will sound way better overall.

might be a nice dancy tune when gets finshed           http://soundcloud.com/aedem

THAT is something u should really think about.... 10 cm ??? i mean what is your room like?

the distance between u and speakers should be equal to distance between each speaker. usually people say minimum 50cm and same between speakers and wall. if you´re sittin 10cm infront of them they should have distance of 10cm between each other. and its just not enough space. i mean even my internal laptop speakers keep more distance

BUT, my room is not that big too, anyway u should easily be able to keep some more distance and btw Adam A7 is pretty cool setup, maybe u just didnt "set it up" right just for your acoustics. sure this is not the only thing....

thanks medea!! really appreciate it...you were absolutly right i just cut the bass at 40HZ with 24db/oct but now the bassline needs to be pushed up at a specific frequency so the bass click can go through cuz its all gone now...wat freqency range should i look into if i want my bass to translate well on big PAs?
thanks
and about the 10cm thing, lol, i wasnt exagerating i have these massive ADAM A7 which are clearly tooo big for my mixing area but wat can i say i fell in love with them at the store..
im gonna figure something out though.

I almost never boost anything with EQ, only cut, perhaps you have to cut out something else from your bass that may mask the "meat", or play around with filter settings on of a synth.

About certain frequencies you may read a lot in the "mother of bassline" thread I believe, but anyways imho there are two main zones in low freqs that one should pay attention to: 1) 60 - 80 Hz (subs for body) and 2) 120 - 150 Hz - (bass for ears)           http://soundcloud.com/aedem
