Greetings,
First of all, I’d like to say a couple of things, to explain why this review will get a bit long.
During this review, I won’t just complain, as if I had no meaning. After you reed this review, you’ll see that those reasons do exist.
I loved the party. Putting it all together, it came along great. Artists, WOMEN (2nd best part), bar, everything.
Well, let’s take u through the party.
I got there around 01:50 am.
Entering was ok. No traffic, secure parking lot not to far from the party. The price was ok also.
The place was very nice (although some people might disagree about that).
It had lots of space to dance, to chill, to rest, to walk, to everything.
The bar was terrific. Many people to attend u, cold beverages all the time, without missing anything.
Now the music part:

WRECKED MACHINES Live:
The same old same. I’m not saying that I don’t like Gabe’s sound (Which I do, A LOT) but it seams like he puts his MAC there, press enter, and let it flow. I really enjoyed his performance. MUSIC IN YOU, ROUNDERS, FACE IT (rocked the house). Very nice live, common one, but good.
HUJABOY Live:
Opened up with U SPIN ME AROUND, which I thing it was nice, people really starting shaking their legs.
He kept the same kind of style. Very powerful, kicking high. DMTIP, a few tracks of PARTY ANIMALS, nice live.
ETNICA Live:
For year, I’ve been wanting to see those freaks acting. First, I thought the project was y Max Lafranconi & Pan Papason. But I found out, that it wasn’t. It was originally created by 4 guys. To left, leaving only (only……. That’s laughable) MAX LAFRANCONI & MAURIZIO BERNOTI.
Max started with a DJ set, cause the equipments were not set up.
Than the live begin. May I say, the fun begin.
I CAN SAY FOR SURE… THIS WAS THE BEST PERFOMANCE I’VE EVER SEEN.
Great music, powerful for the night, but groovy as the killing morning. Clean sound. Perfect frequency, perfect everything.
Max has a great stage performance. The crowd loved it
No wonder these guys r one of the top around the globe.
I won’t forget it. EVER!!!! 
ELMAR VS. STAS:
Was nice. Many UTOPIA’S (dance floor bombs, but not my specific taste). PHANATIC, STEREOMATIC etc. Great mixing skills btw.
YAHEL Live:
This is a particular case.
YAHEL’s been one of top names on the Psy-Trance scene. I just like to say, that IMO, that was a few years ago.
I believe that Trance has evolved a lot through the years. When I first heard YAHEL, I really loved.
I thought it to be very psychedelic, and uplifting. Yesterday, I didn’t feel like that. His sound is exactly the same, of 4, 5 years ago.
I found it TOO old school. I REAAAAALLY liked when PSYCRAFT entered, to play ELECTRO PANIC with live guitars. People cheered…
YAHEL VS. ROGER LYRA:
They promised an OLD SCHOOL continuation. And they did continued. So, I went to the chill out, to rest a bit (btw, the chill was great, many pillows, mattresses, and great music). The only tracked I heard by far, was WRECKED MACHINES rmx of the TRAINSPOTTING sound track, TRANCEPOTTING. That one I liked.
VIBE TRIBE Live:
It was nice. I THINK they opened with WISE CRACKS. The live, was the album.
All I missed, was SPERMINATOR RMX. But the live was ok. Groovy, powerful, and very well set.
PSYCRAFT Live:
The guitar was not doing great. ALON tried his best to work it down, by with no result. SO, they had to give up the guiter, and use only it’s samples. Good presentation. BORDERLINE rocked the dance floor.
DALI Live:
Didn’t see it. I saw just the begging, but my legs were trembling. So, I went straight for the chill out area for some rest.
BLACK & WHITE Live:
This was the 2nd time I had the pleasure to see these guys.
Powerful music. Without that morning taste. In fact, with all that morning taste. BLADE, STATUS, RETRO ACTIVE. Oh my. I couldn’t keep my self-standing. Once again, I was thrilled with their live. Thanks again guys, for a great time. 
SHANTI Live:
Was nice. Very groovy, but I thought it to be a bit boring. It wasn’t the usual fun.
But nice production.
After that I left. It was already 3 pm, and my stomach was fighting with myself. But he was pleased, when the first BIG MAC dropped in. Nice.
Now the sad part: 
I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO A PARTY, WITH SUCH A NASTY FUCKING CROWD. (sry about my language, but I think I’m being gentle anyway)
Just a bunch of playboys, showing their selves to everyone, begging for a fight to enter (btw, I say 5, BIG ONES. With securities also involved).
It’s sad to see that, in a party with many (AND I MEAN MAAAAANY) beautiful girls, those pricks prefer to beat each other to the death, than to seek the gorgeous ones.
RIO’S scene, is dropping more than the others.
I was chocked.
I’M NEVER GOING TO BACK TO RIO AGAIN, FOR A PARTY. THAT’S FOR SURE. 
Very disappointed with that. But, what can I really do right????

2 things I forgot to mention:
1-) I have never seen too much EXTASY in a one day party.
I even saw a sort of 14 years old BOY (in a party that minors can't go) byting his lips, and trembling. 60% (I'm not jus saying that) were in Extasy, cause one time, I looked around. In each 10 people I looked, more than 6 were easylly spotted.
2-) The presence of a BACKSTAGE area, also got my attention. They charged R$40 (10 less than what I payed for the normal ticket) just so that poeple could dance in another place. Which was "CLOSE" to the stage. Just to showe themselves of. To FEEL separate from the others.

yeah man, rio parties totally suck nowadays
exactly as you described, stupid ´playboys´, too much ecstasy, etc etc
i live in rio, and I used to go a lot back in 2000, 2001, even 2002, when there were many outdoor parties that were still full of nice freaks, not so many undercover cops, stupid playboys and stuff
I had quit going to these parties for years, and only going to festivals... and then the beginning of this year I went to one to hear thomas penton play.. and of course my conclusion was confirmed: its just not worth going to them.. too much shit
all these drugged people, not conscious at all of what they are doing.. and then one of them is the son of some high class lawyer or judge, and they get caught by their parents with drugs, or some of them end up in the hospital because they dont know limits, or they crash their car.. and then the media starts talking about it, and cops start busting the parties, blaming the electronic music, saying its all evil..
if only people would do it consciously, have fun with limits, think of others, think of their consequences.. then maybe we wouldnt have so many problems..
but I guess thats too much to ask... |
