E-Clip: Progressive Psy with a bang
Serbia is among the hottest Psy Progressive scenes in this moment and it is hardly surprising that we have seen an influx of new producers from that country in the last few years. Flegma, Nerso, Zyce, just to name a few, are now established artists and are among the most requested and followed. However a new upcoming project named E-Clip has grabbed the attention like no other Serbian artist has done before in so few releases.
E-Clip
E-Clip is the Psy Progressive project launched by Marko Radovanovic aka Radule from Belgrade. Marko has been active in the Psy scene since 2002 when he launched his Full-On project Beyondecliptica. Under this alias he released his first artist album titled Groove Technologies on Greek label Medusa Records. After this first achievement, in 2009, he decided that it was the right time to expand his musical horizons and launch a Psy Progressive project.
While many established Psy Progressive producers have lately been influenced by genres that little have in common with Psy Music, E-Clip Psy Progressive sound is directly influenced by his Full-On background. The majority of the productions released so far have a fairly dark and deep atmosphere, but this does not mean that melodies have a marginal importance in his works, in fact his tracks have some of the most interesting and original melodic arrangements coming from the Psy Progressive genre in the last couple of months. Just check out the tracks Equilibrium and Ocean Light to have the proof.
The Progressive/Full-On bassline he has often employed so far gives that banging energy people look for in the peak moments of a Progressive Psy set. Thus it is not really surprising that John '00' Fleming spinned Equilibrium in the second hour of his Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1.
E-Clip talent has obviously not gone unnoticed among the Psy Progressive labels and Iono Music decided to sign him this January. We hope this move will lead to the release of an E-Clip artist album in the near future.
