Theres a pair of 12's going for £1100 and i can get 6's for £750. I have the money as i been saving for so long but this is a crucial part to my whole setup that i have gathered so i dont want to skimp. Im after the right decision here and i just want to know if the bump in price with the 12's is worth it or not

Thanks Zork, you are spot on with my concern. Its all about my skepticism about the 6's bass response as it seems ppl are posting in numerous places about them being to light in the lower freq domain. Do u own 12's or used them as well as 6's?

If you have a room big enough to cope with the bm12a and the money I would go for them as well.

no i own adam a7`s but i was working for a Studio Equipment shop for one year and sold/heard a lot of speakers..
people try to work with subwoffers often and then are very disappointed because they god serious phasing issues due to the right position of the sub..
if you want more bass then its always the best way to go with a bigger speaker..
but as daniel said already , your room has to be big enough as well..otherwise a 7" speaker would be enough..im actualy satisfied with the A7`s..

The bm6a's are really good enough imho. Also for bass. I own a pair for about a year now and am really happy with them. Compared them to quit alot of other monitors but these really give me good feedback on what it sounds like.
If you get any of them it really boils down to your production skills to get the best out of them. Both will probably help alot. And for sure give you a nice listening experience  |

I got the BM12 and I would say that you should go for the BM12.. For sure the BM6 are high quality speakers but you loose the bottom end with them. So if you buy the BM6 you should buy yourself a subwoofer to complete it. But I dont think it is the same anyway.
Go for the bigger ones!

Go with the BM12's later you will wish you'd gone bigger (like me). Plus it gives you more of a push to treat your space for oddities.

i don't no how the bm12 sounds like but the bm6 is just excellent . and they have enough low end. i had beningher before and it's so much better............
it's like replace bucyle with a mercedes. you can buy the ferrary (bm12) but mercedes is just good enough |
