hmm i know genelec has great reputation with monitors... im pretty sure i have used those ones before (they are the actives with an 8" driver yeah ?)

the sound is good... but not quite as sweet as the dynaudio i think... the genelecs are quite midy (which is handy in many instances) i guess its just which one you like the sound of better...

I know of one review of 10 nearfields:

http://www.prorec.com/prorec/articles.nsf/articles/0B7FAE7ED3205D3C86256AE100044F41

It features the BM6a and the Genelec 1031a but not the type of Genelecs you describe. I guess it's best to go to a shop and do an A/B comparison of all the monitors in your price-range. After all, you're spending a lot of money.

Ask to test them in your studio.
I think they will agree.

I can try to say something about the Tannoy... I worked with them, and it´s pretty good! Comparing with the Mackie one, the Tannoy has more power, but Mackie maybe has better flat "mid/high" response...

If your studio is big, Tannoy System 800A should work very well! The sound is extremelly loud!

Never heard the Dynaudio or Genelec´s ones...           LOADING...

He had the Bm6a At present I beleive he's got focal twin 6.... lucky one !

But... nevermind what he went for, its what you want to go for that matters... listen to both read review make up your mind. Personaly I went of for the bm6a and if i had the money I would already have the twin 6 regardless of what vibe tribe or any other artist went for.

There are lots of very good monitors out there who might suit you better who knows. For example somehow i noticed that often the people who like Adam don't go for dynaudio. this is certainly not the case of everyone but its a trend i noticed with a lot of people i know.

I heard somewhere that Genelec and Dynaudio uses the same speaker drivers.... that only the amplåification and (ofcourse) enclosures that differ...

anyone can back this up?

I want the Focal Twins too!           http://www.myspace.com/fragletrollet

If you're willing to consider BM6As and 8040s, you should also give Adam S2As a spin. All these are excellent speakers to work with and quite an investment, but I found the S2As the best solution (enough to justify the price). A and P series stuff is nice, but the S series is something else entirely.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222
